Marcellino's Restaurant and Lounge celebrated its grand reopening inside the Royal Regency Hotel at 165 Tuckahoe Rd. in Yonkers with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Monday, Oct. 23.
The celebration was visited by Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and other city officials, who said the new establishment boasts an "elegant dining area" and a patio for special occasions. Additionally, the ceremony was also attended by the 11-year-old son of the owners, who got to witness the opening of his parent's new restaurant, Spano said.
"Talk about life lessons. Lucas's parents Brian and Nicole worked hard to open their own business here in Yonkers. Today, the 11-year-old got to see his parents' dream come true," Spano wrote on social media.
The restaurant, which was previously located at 328 Tuckahoe Rd., has already built up a reputation for good pizza in Yonkers and is known for its Large Cheese Pizza, the owners said.
"You can't say you've been to Marcellino's Pizzeria & Restaurant until you've tried Large Cheese Pizza. This classic local favorite is what this establishment is known for," the owners wrote on their website.
In addition to pizza, the eatery also serves pasta dishes, wraps, calzones, sandwiches, chicken, veal, and seafood dishes, and plenty of sweet desserts.
Those running short on time can also order takeout for either pickup or delivery from the eatery as well.
